TOM WHO?
Tom is dedicated to mental health with training including a level 2 in understanding mental health first aid & mental health advocacy within the workplace
Driven by lived experience and a commitment to making a difference, our founder transitioned from personal recovery and development to professional practice in mental health support.
After successfully guiding others through their own challenges, he pursued formal training and established a service dedicated to improving mental health awareness, education, and resilience. With a background in the construction industry, he identified a critical gap in support within high-stress, male-dominated environments.
Talk To Tom was created to bridge that gap; offering tailored mental health services to organisations that value the wellbeing and performance of their workforce.

''I can say I’ve been to the darkest place that I never knew existed until I was there. I’d shut everyone out and was on the verge of, or was even having a breakdown. Everything was going wrong in so many aspects of my life and I didn’t know what to do or where to turn.
Somehow I found the strength to reach out to Tom, and I’ve never looked back since.
He has listened, evaluated my situation and turned me around to face the right direction. He gave me hope, changed my mindset and outlook, and gave me the tools I needed to progress to where I am now.
I am almost back to the best version of myself that I’ve ever been and I owe this all to Tom and his amazing skills.
He saved my life, he gave me hope, and he gave me a future.’’

''I am a life long sufferer, I suffer from serious health problems, also I suffer from mental health problems. I have seen many professionals in my life time.
In 2023, I had a spell of a few months where I was really low, I put a post on a social media platform, in general, about suicide, not me being suicidal, but about the subject of suicide.
Tom picked up on it pretty quickly via a quick back and forth via messenger. Shortly after we had a conversation on the phone for approximately an hour. Before I knew it I was sharing, some may say over sharing. There were tears, there were no judgements, just an ear to listen, a heart kind enough to help remind me of what I was lucky enough to have in my life already.
Tom was understanding, empathetic, sympathetic, easy to conversate with. He pulled me out of a dark hole, in a dark period of my life.
I know now that should I have any problems with my mental health, if life weighs me down and I'm ready to crumble, Tom will be there, ready to listen.
As someone that has suffered for a long time, I can't tell you how reassuring that is.
I would recommend Tom to anyone that's struggling and who needs support. The best thing you can do is talk, just having some one none judgemental ready to listen, that's a massive thing!''

''After a really stressful incident in my life, I started having panic attacks. It was something I’d never experienced before, and I was genuinely worried I was losing my mind. I didn’t know what was happening or how to explain it to anyone, so I kept it to myself, thinking I could fix it alone.
By chance, I saw Tom whilst in the middle of this storm, and I’m so glad I did. He could somehow see the weight I’d been carrying. All his focus in that moment was making sure I’d be okay. He stayed completely calm, made me feel safe, and supported me without a hint of judgment. I was nervous to open up, but he helped me talk through it and made everything feel less overwhelming.
That day changed everything. I haven’t had a panic attack since, and my life’s been on an upward trajectory ever since. What stood out most was how genuine his support was which I believe comes from lived experience and real compassion. He has a deep understanding of what someone in crisis needs.
What he did for me helped me take back control and return to myself. That’s something I’ll always be grateful for.’’

''I reached out to Tom after a sudden separation from my wife of 5 years. I was really struggling with drink and drug issues. I was distraught as to the impact on my life as I was essentially ruined over night.
Tom rearranged his plans calling in a friend to care for his children and visited me where I was staying, lifting me up in my darkest of hours, checking in regularly, propping me up mentally and generally. He made me realise that worrying doesn't change the problem, it only changes your mental space and health. When you are at your lowest things seem unsurmountable but with time and tackling the small things one by one its not as bad as it seems.
Bravo Tom, Bravo! You really helped turn my downwards spiral to a gentle staircase to getting back on my feet. Thank you!''
